The long awaited
album "God over Everything" (GOE) from the Nigerian dancehall star
Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie aka Patoranking is finally over.
Soon after landing
at the Julius Nyerere International airport (JNIA) yesterday evening,
the dancehall reggae artiste together with his team were received by
Spice Africa, the company working with Patoranking in promoting his
music and distribution of the artiste's new album.
Speaking at a press
conference held at Paparazzi-Slipway the same evening, The artiste
revealed some of his hits that are available on the album, a few which
are already doing well internationally like "Girlie O", "My woman",
"Make Am", "Another Level", "Alubarika" and his recent new single "No
Kissing Baby" featuring Ghanaian Sarkodie.
The album which
contains most hits produced from his record label VP records, has a
total number of 16 songs. "This album is a masterpiece; it has got songs
for everyone, for people of all ages and for all parts of Africa.
I wanted to pay
homage to my roots and also embrace the new school African music scene
that is taking over the world. I'm so excited to introduce it for the
first time worldwide to my Tanzanian fans"... said Patoranking.
The artiste also
took his time to explain why he chose Dar es Salaam as the first city to
introduce his debut album, "Tanzanians are lovely people, I have seen a
number of artistes from Nigeria and other countries who come here to
perform and the love is huge" He mentioned a few Tanzanian artistes that
the star is planning to work with including: Navy Kenzo and Vanessa
Mdee, who according to him are like family.
He thanked his fans
and the media in Tanzania for supporting his music before revealing
that he will also tour Nairobi, Kampala and Accra-Ghana to do a similar
activity before heading back home. Patoranking also went on to
exclusively break the news that he has established a record label one he
dubs as "his baby", whose first artist comes from our very own
Tanzania, "His name is Walid, you may not know him now, but you will, he
is destined for great things" said Patoranking.
